Room It Up™ is a complete line of room décor and lifestyle accessories designed to personalize your space. Lap Desks, Fleece, Organization, Travel Bags, Cosmetic Cases, Laundry Bags, Shower Curtains, Umbrellas and more, are all available in this season’s signature prints. The firm began in 1997 as a private-label manufacturer, producing products sold by big-box retailers. Now Room It Up sells its products under its own brand, and no longer sells to these big-box stores. Instead of 12 big customers, Room It Up now sells to thousands of independent retailers.

Instrumental in the firm’s growth was its adoption of an ecommerce business model, and central to that model is the firm’s NetSuite web store. Designed and implemented by Intente, the Room It Up web store allows wholesale customers to order online, providing convenience for them and efficiency for Room It Up. NetSuite integrates all of the firm’s back-office functions into one easy-to-use system, allowing Room It Up to support its thousands of retailers with a small, efficient team.

Jamie Chauss, Room It Up’s founder and CEO, is very happy with the NetSuite software but did not have a good installation experience; his team ended up doing most of the implementation work themselves. Once his firm had implemented the NetSuite ERP functionality, Jamie was ready to add NetSuite’s ecommerce functionality, so he looked for a partner to create his web store. After a false start with one consultant, Jamie visited the NetSuite user group website to find a suitable NetSuite partner and was referred to Intente by one of its satisfied customers.

“They said they had had a really good experience with Intente,” says Jamie, “that Intente had provided everything they needed, and in a timely fashion.”

“My experience was just as good,” he says. His only regret is that he didn’t find Intente earlier. “It would have been great to have Larry working with us when we were doing the initial implementation!” says Jamie.
