New Web Store Enables Online Sales

NetSuite Four Flags Over Aspen - St. Clair, MN

Four Flags Over Aspen, Inc., has been in the business of designing, manufacturing, and distributing a variety of unique pet products for over two decades. The firm's original pet products, including the Quick Muzzle®, were designed for pet professionals such as veterinarians, and marketing via direct mail. When new products were added, Four Flags added a catalog to the marketing mix. About ten years ago, the firm created its first website. That was early days for internet marketing, and Four Flags CEO Cindi Gaterud laughs to remember it. “It was the classic case,” she says, “of 'yes, we have a website, but don't go there'.”

That changed when Four Flags switched to NetSuite, the Software-as-a-Service product that allows you to integrate all of your business applications online. “One of the draws,” says Cindi, “is that NetSuite integrates business systems with the Web.” To fully take advantage of this capability, a new web store was needed, one that would successfully support online sales while also extending the firm’s brand with a full, customizable design that would match the firm’s catalogs and other sales materials.

Once the decision was made to embrace ecommerce, “that meant upgrading the web store,” says Cindi, “making it more of a force for sales.” She jumped into the upgrade process with both feet, working with Intente to get a new, fully functional, NetSuite web store designed and implemented. Together with an in-house graphic designer at Four Flags, Intente also refined the look and feel of the firm's web site. Now the firm’s online presence has it all—a clear message, compelling visuals, good usability, and a strong look and feel that matches and reinforces the firm's brand.

Four Flags sells to consumers, pet professionals, and distributors, so its online presence needs to address both markets. The new web site and web store combine consumer-friendly functions with a separate portal for each market segment. In this way, one online presence supports three different audiences with varying business models, all tied together by one underlying implementation of NetSuite.
